The 'scope itself is nice, the optics are great and I like the fact it comes with a magnifying finder scope rather than a cheap red dot - in light polluted areas having a bit of magnification really helps when star hopping. This is my main regret with buying this telescope.

Spherical mirrors aren’t bad, but in tubes with a short focal length, they introduce spherical aberration. As mentioned, this XT8 Dobsonian has parabolic mirrors instead of spherical.
